[At least Dick has girlfriends. There's been a dearth of...well, anyone for him. He wouldn't be averse to talking to Landy, even, but the person he really wants to talk to isn't showing up.

Figures the Admiral wouldn't make it easy.

Bourne's early as well, making it upstairs just past the seven-minute mark. He nods at Dick and opens up the CES. Today, it's a meadow, thrown into nighttime by the Barge's own clock, with some mountains rearing up in the far distance.

Good for sparring.]

[To be fair, they'd broken up, called off the engagement and Dick didn't really know what the hell was going on with that, but he still missed her. And seeing a younger counterpart - before the Joker, before she'd been shot - had been jarring in a lot of ways.

He nodded back at the other warden and stepped inside. Unfortunately for Bourne, Dick - even while tired and reeling from seeing the younger Babs - is still chatty as hell, so he attempts the whole small talk thing while heading in to find a good place to spar.]

So, how've you been?

OOoooOOO, Jay-sun. FUN! Whuchyer favorite candy?

Hahaha, oh my God, this can't even be a thing. [Slightly hysterical laughter.]

[Deadpan, in a pitch-perfect imitation of Sullivan's own accent:]

I'm your good fahkin' twin from another fahkin' universe, guy. And I've been punched and stabbed for having the fahkin' temerity to look like you.

[Snicker.] Yeah. Yeah, it is.

[She's looking at the posters for The Bourne Ultimatum and The Departed in her room, both of which are mercifully out of frame.]

So, two of you interacting. How come the universe hasn't collapsed in on itself?

I don't know. I suppose I like chocolate.

[Bourne is not chatty even on the best of days, but he figured that he should make an effort anyway, especially since Dick had been the one to suggest sparring in the first place.]

"Well, today I've been contacted by an elf, a crazy Austrian, and your inmate's sworn enemy. So I'm doing great."

[He's finally starting to grow a sense of sarcasm. Good for him.]

"You?"

[Dick stops in his tracks, staring at Bourne, immediately concerned.]

Sullivan's on the network?

"Was." [Bourne corrected the superhero.] "I think I scared him off. He was surprised to see his double on the network." [And how Bourne's suffered for sharing the rat's face.]

"I didn't see Costigan post, so I doubt he knew." [And he hoped they hadn't gotten in contact with each other. Christ. That would be fun.]

I guess we can hope. [And that went right to the top of Dick's to do list, because seriously, being bothered by the guy who'd gotten him killed was the last thing on earth Costigan needed.]

I'm okay. Could maybe do with a few more hours of sleep, but I take what I can get.

What kind of chocolate? Plain? White? Dark? With almonds? Filled with peanut butter? Truffles? Cold? Some people like to freeze their chocolate.

...milk chocolate?

"Couldn't we all." [Bourne had learned and learned well to do without sleep for long periods of time, but one still needed to recharge the old batteries every so often. He never slept deeply, but he always slept just enough.

He glanced around the meadow, taking in the surroundings.] "Ready when you are." [Maybe he'd want to talk more later. Maybe.]

[Dick just shrugged. Ever since the kid flood, he'd been having a hard time getting any reasonable amount of sleep because of the nightmares that came with revisiting the month after his parents had died. He'd managed to stay down for about an hour earlier in the day, but considering it had been about a week? He was starting to really feel the sleep dep.

Not that he was going to let that affect this. Fighting was really actually something he enjoyed, and he was good at it. So, he moved to be a safe distance away from Bourne rather then just jumping him, assuming an easy, slightly defensive stance. He didn't usually make the first move in these sorts of situations.] Sure.

[Bourne assumed a stance, a little more guarded than Dick's appeared to be, though by no means a classic fighting pose. He usually wasn't one to make the first move either, but he watched the superhero carefully, looking for a twitch of a muscle that would denote sudden movement coming - if it wasn't a feint.

Usually he didn't have time to watch for these things consciously; it was an automatic thing, a reflex as automatic as blinking. As his mind settled into the familiar lull of combat, he felt the frustration of the day in his muscles. He couldn't afford to let himself get careless, but he wanted to beat something into unconsciousness. Not that that was likely to happen; he'd seen Dick handle Costigan when he'd gone off the pills and that alone had convinced him that the hero was no novice, and certainly someone who wouldn't appreciate being pummeled into senselessness.

So he watched.]

[After another beat of just standing there, staring at each other and waiting for one to make the first move, Dick just laughed, almost entirely relaxing his stance for a moment, like he was about to suggest they just head off to the bar for a beer or something instead.

But then he rushed forward, swinging a fist up to knock Bourne on the jaw if it landed on target, and right behind it was another fist, this one aiming for the other warden's stomach. He was fast, but he was also tired, which was probably a good thing. It would be easier to mask just how good he was at this, especially when he figured Bourne already sort of suspected something was up.]

Classic, nice, nice, can't beat the original.
