I still don't know why the Admiral decided that I should be a warden. After talking with Costigan, I realized that we're not all that different. If I had died, I'd be an inmate - I know that for a fact. So why am I a warden? What's the logic in it? Is this my redemption? Helping Armand and whoever else crosses my path? Why didn't the Admiral just wait until I had died and make me an inmate? Aside from dying, the conditions seem...arbitrary.

If they're that naïve, I don't see the CIA putting 'em on the payroll... Then again, stranger things have happened.

My involvement was indirect. Quite frankly, my former employers are of much greater concern.

It's not outside the realm of possibility that they employ alcoholics. Far more plausible than straight naïveté.

If they've got that kind of problem, I doubt they're anywhere near the higher echelons.
